The surroundings... Canford Magna Golf Club is situated by the river which is good news if you enjoy watching the wildlife but daunting if you have play a stroke that could end with your ball disappearing in the water. No-one openly discussed how many balls they had lost that day, so we can only assume that none were. The weather was very well behaved on the day, the teams enjoyed their day's golf in fine weather. Fortunately, when the heavens opened, everyone had finished and it was just a case of running to the clubhouse.
The winning team on the day...(Left to right) Guest Tullio Jones with Simon Steele-Williams of Coles Miller, David Webb of Matthew & Matthew join Farley & Thompson's Bob Hipkiss. Bob, a keen golfer had an unfortunate experience recently at his own golf club. He played a sliced shot which concussed the club's professional and smashed the windscreen of a new Rolls Royce. When the Police arrived, Bob asked one of the PC's what on earth he should do. The PC replied: "Try opening your stance a bit."
