A proud history
Farley & Thompson has been a private client stockbroking firm since 1938, located in Bournemouth on the South Coast of the United Kingdom. The partnership proudly remains one of only around 30 fully independent Corporate Members of the London Stock Exchange. With clients across the United Kingdom and overseas we pride ourselves in offering a very personal service from qualified and experienced principals fully supported by a dedicated, client focused, team of people and systems. We have a wide portfolio of private investors and professional clients including solicitors and chartered accountants who trust us to act for them on their own clients’ behalf. A proven team
The late Michael Merridew joined the firm in 1959, becoming Senior Partner in 1979 until his death in 2011. Michael is much missed by the Farley & Thompson team, but they are proud to work as a reputable and experienced stockbroking practice, taking forward the firm’s philosophy of integrity and accountability. A prudent approach
Specialising in advice on blue chip equities and fixed interest bonds the firm has steadfastly resisted merely fashionable trends typified by the dot com boom, swiftly followed by the dot com bust! However, our stockbrokers are happy to discuss in person any particular investment issues or ideas clients may wish to explore.

For people unused to the stock market any one of our stockbrokers will be more than happy to help over the telephone or in the comfort and privacy of our Bournemouth offices. Whilst holding to traditional values, we are a modern, pro-active firm. In 2011 we moved to reflect the green agenda.
